Hello Reader ...
Thanks for coming here ...
And, thank you so much for picking up my work. I truly hope
that you find it worthy.
I also hope that I can take you somewhere on these pages,
somewhere far from here ...
But not far from you ... or me.
Not far from anyone actually.
I’d like you to come with me ... to thee edge ...
I’m not trying to scare you ...
In fact, I want to caress the most inner part of you ...
The part you hide from everyone ...
You can’t hide it from me ... I’ve seen it ... In fact, I’ve
become friends with it ...
If you claim not to know it ... Please, allow me to
introduce you to it ...
I think we’ll find that you actually know it quite well ...
It is here ... that your life speaks to you.
And it does speak to you ...
In the lyrics to some song in the distance ...
Or perhaps on the billboard that you drove past earlier
today ...
In the first few lines of a newspaper article that your eyes
were drawn to one morning ...
Or ... maybe even in some conversation you just overheard
somewhere ...
Viola’ ... The answer you were searching for ... just
arrives.
Some ... listen intently.
Some ... never hear a thing.
To some, it speaks with a whisper ... And to others, it
speaks with a roar.
You see, I’m going to take it out ... that very part of
you ... and show it some things.
It’ll be fun ... Really
Just close your eyes ... and we’re there ...
If you’ve come looking only for terror, monsters or creepy
things that go bump in the night ...
Then I’d like to recommend some earlier Stephen King ...
And if you’ve come looking for things like a talking dog or
ancient, alien creatures living under ground ...
I’d then suggest Dean Koontz ...
Their style and genre are their own ... And, while I love
their work ... I will not emulate it.
Nor will I probably ever be as prolific as they have been
... I don’t think I have that many stories in me.
But, Dear reader, if you have just come looking ... then
read on ...
Most of the things I try my best to write about, are in you
... In all of us ... somewhere ...
They’re right over there ... on thee edge.
That is where these stories come from ... Thee edge.
Thee edge of your mind ...
Thee edge of your spirit ...
Thee edge of your deepest secret ...
Thee edge of your darkest thought ...
From thee edge of the child that lives inside of you ...
From thee edge of some dream that you refuse to remember ...
From thee edge of that one fear you always seem to hide most
of all ...
Yes reader, even from the very edge of your soul ...
Come now ... with me ... to thee edge ...

“Come to the edge.”
“We can’t. We are afraid.”
“Come to the edge.”
“We can’t. We will fall!”
“Come to the edge.”
And they came.
And he pushed them.
And they flew.
-Guillaume Apollinaire
